Sam Assam
Sam joined Assam Companies in 1995 and simultaneously launched his own law practice as a subsidiary service of the organization. Prior to Assam Companies he worked for Arthur Andersen in Minneapolis doing corporate and personal income taxation for Fortune 500 and ultra-high net worth individuals. Following his time at Arthur Andersen, Sam relocated to Sioux Falls and joined Hagen Wilka Archer, PC in 1991 and became a partner in the firm in 1992. Sam was instrumental in to turning Assam Companies into the organization it is today, launching the Assam Companies brand in 2002 and sunsetting Fred Assam Commercial Real Estate.
Throughout his career Sam has personally brokered well over $200,000,000 in divestiture and acquisitions transactions. He has also represented and transacted with multiple nationally recognized brands including Chipotle, Les Schwab Tires, Dunn Brothers, Kwik Trip, Famous Dave’s, and Walgreens.
Sam earned a BS degree in economics as well as masters in accounting from the University of South Dakota, a JD from Hamline Law School and a Masters in Finance from the University of St. Thomas. He also holds an LLM in Tax Law from the William-Mitchell School of Law.
Sam is an inactive CPA holder in the State of South Dakota, and is a licensed attorney in the states of Minnesota and South Dakota.
